Rachael was an avid doll and teddy bear collector for many years.
This permitted her to learn a great deal about the field of doll sculpture,
to meet doll and bear artists and to connect with doll shops both large and
small around the world. Rachael even began an interest in sculpting her
own preemie baby boy doll from Sculpey.
She called him "Incu-baby". He came in a clear sweater box with
receiving blanket to give the neonatal incubator effect.
One day she hopes to return to this effort, since as a child,
she won a first prize in The Scholastic Art Competition
when her clay sculpture appeared in the Everson Museum, Syracuse NY.
Meanwhile, Rachael had a small but booming business in doll
photography - selling greeting cards and wall art, novelties such as
magnets and calendars, mugs and Tee-shirts - which she sold through
The Enchanted Forest of Dolls (no longer in business) of
Fayetteville, N.Y., The Purple Duck of Fairmount, N.Y. (no longer in business),
Mama Bears of Fayetteville, N.Y. (also no longer in business),
Little Ladies and Lace of Camillus, N.Y. ,
and Cindy's Dolls formerly of Oswego, now in Las Vegas, N.V.
"Kids on Couch" (shown below) was part of a photo exhibit for "All Through the House",
a holiday open house sponsored by the Jr. League of Syracuse, N.Y. Most recently, one of Rachael's doll photographs appeared
in the international Annette Himstedt magazine "Undine"
in the spring 2004 club issue.
Rachael continues to create the above listed items for doll
and teddy bear collector purchase and enjoyment from her
archive of Doll Photos. Everything you see on these pages is
currently available as greeting and post cards,
wall art: 4 by 6", 5 by 7", and 8 by 10" prints. You can also
custom order a photo on a Teeshirt, coffee mug, or magnets for the fridge.
Rachael plans to create new calendars as well.
